Information For Runners
Dear Runner,
Thank you for Registering for the 5th Edition of the Daily World Marathon being held on 31st March, 2024 at Capitol Complex, Sector 1, Chandigarh.
Please take note of the following important information:
BIB COLLECTION:
VENUE: Chandigarh Club, Sector 1, Chandigarh
DATE : 29th & 30th March, 2024
TIME: 11.30 am to 6.00 pm on both of the above dates.
Note: Bibs, T-shirts, etc must be collected at the Expo. Bib No is necessary for participation. All participants must bring an attended identity and age proof at the time of registration.
VENUE AND ROUTES:
All runs will commence from and end at the Capitol Complex Sector 1 Chandigarh (near the High Court of Punjab and Haryana).
REACHING THE VENUE:
Chandigarh is a relatively small city. The Capitol Complex is located towards the Northern Boundary of the city but is not more than 15 minutes driving time by cab or auto from most city hotels on an early Sunday morning.
STARTING TIMES
Full Marathon: 4.30 am
Half Marathon: 5.30 am
10 KM: 6.30 am
5 km: 8:15 am
All events will start punctually at the fixed times. You are requested to report 45 minutes in advance. The organizers will not be responsible in case you are unable to participate on account of late arrival. Baggage should be limited to a single light weight article. You are advised not to carry any valuables to the event.
CUT OFF TIME
MAXIMUM (CUT-OFF) TIMES WILL BE AS UNDER:
Full Marathon: 6 Hrs 30 Mins
Half Marathon: 3 Hrs 30 Mins
10 KM: 1 Hr 45 Mins
5 KM Run: 60 Mins
AGE CATEGORIES FOR FULL (42 km), HALF (21 km) AND 10 KM RUN:
OPEN: 18 to 40 years – Separate prizes for Male and Female participants.
MASTERS: 40-50; 50-60, 60+ Years
There is no distinction between Male and Female participants for award of prizes in the Masters Categories on account of the limited entries in these categories.
PRIZES:
Prizes will be remitted through RTGS after compilation of date and age verification (where necessary). Team Daily World will contact all the winners in all age categories to get account details for prize money.
IMPORTANT:
• Please remember to carry your offline / online Registration Receipt with you in original for Bib collection (or a pic of the same in your mobile phone).
• For authorizing anyone else to collect the bib, T shirt etc a signed authorization letter must be presented in original along with photocopy of identity proof.
• The organizers have taken every care and precaution to ensure a smooth and safe event. However, we will not be responsible for any medical / other mishap for any reason beyond our control. Please train properly and be in good health for the event.
• Cash prizes will be transferred to all winners within 15 days from the event date after verification.
